HC Deb 02 June 1938 vol 336 cc2387-8

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Clause stand part of the Bill."

10.32 p.m.

Mr. Alexander

I should like to ask the Minister whether he will consider, before the Report stage, amending Clause 6 so as to make certain that societies which will be the subject of these loans will be of a mutual character based on fishermen and having an actual mutual organisation. I am not sure that the reference to "organisation" in Sub-section (1) (bb) would not, in fact, bring in other people not in the fishing industry. I do not wish to press the matter now, but I hope the right hon. Gentleman will consider it before the Report stage.

Mr. Colville

indicated assent.

Clauses 7 to 10 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Schedules agreed to.

Bill reported, with Amendment; as Amended, to be considered upon Tuesday, 14th June, and to be printed. [Bill 174.]
