HC Deb 01 June 1938 vol 336 c2039
48. Mr. MacLaren

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence whether, in considering the proposal to amend the Port of London by-laws concerning the limits within which oil-tankers may enter the Thames, the Committee of Imperial Defence and its appropriate sub-committee have paid particular regard to the representations on the subject made by the Institute of Fire Engineers to the Ministry of Transport; and at what decision the committee has arrived?

The Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence (Sir Thomas Inskip)

I am aware of the representations which the Institute of Fire Engineers have made to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport. They are still under his consideration.
