HC Deb 01 June 1938 vol 336 cc2029-30
35. Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will urge on the respective Colonial Governments the importance of an earlier publication of their annual report on the social and economic progress of the people for whom they are responsible, and to include in these reports brief descriptive notes on new ordinances and other legislation applicable to the Colony in the year under review; and a summary of the existing legislation for the protection of the working population in their everyday employment and the degree to which such legislation is operative?

Mr. M. MacDonald

I am drawing the attention of Colonial Governments to the importance of all these points.
