Mr. M. MacDonaldEfforts are being made by propaganda, instruction and the planting of demonstration plots to impress the natives with the importance of this matter. Local native councils are encouraged to maintain tree nurseries and to distribute plants. Progress is being made with the demarcation of the areas already declared to be forest reserves and efforts are also being made to persuade the local native councils concerned to agree to further areas of forests being brought under the direct control of the Forest Department.
