HC Deb 26 July 1938 vol 338 cc2900-1
73. Mr. Davidson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he intends to set up a permanent advisory committee on Scottish affairs composed of Scottish local authority representatives?

Mr. Colville

I am anxious to secure the closest possible contact with local authorities in Scotland; and I shall be glad to consider any suggestions which local authorities or their associations may care to make for improving the existing facilities for consultation with them.

Mr. Davidson

Will the right hon. Gentleman keep in mind at the same time the fact that the suggestion involved in this question has been supported by Scottish Members of Parliament of all parties in this House?

Mr. Colville

I will bear all relevant considerations in mind.
