HC Deb 21 July 1938 vol 338 cc2412-3
52. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the inadequate water supply which exists in the villages of Armscote, Blackwell, and Darlingscott, in the Evesham division of Worcestershire; and what steps he proposes to take to rectify this condition?

Mr. Elliot

As my hon. Friend will be aware, the responsibility for promoting a scheme for these villages rests with the Rural District Council of Skipton-on-Stour which, I understand, is dealing with several of its parishes separately. I am prepared to entertain an application from them for consent to a loan for the purpose.

Mr. De la Bère

May I ask my right hon. Friend whether he will realise the importance of the health and comfort of all the dwellers in the division of Evesham?

Mr. Macquisten

Have they ever considered the possibility of boring for water, as there is water under the surface everywhere?
