HC Deb 21 July 1938 vol 338 c2424
71. Mr. De Chair

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he proposes to take to implement the Government's intention to stimulate the production of home-grown animal feeding-stuffs?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I would refer my hon. Friend to my remarks during the Debate on 13th July.

Mr. De Chair

But is the right hon. Gentleman not aware that my question was put in order to get some information from him as to what he intends to do to supplement the remarks to which he has referred, which led us to expect further legislation to stimulate the home production of animal feeding-stuffs?

Mr. Morrison

In the Debate I referred to various measures taken to this end such as the Agricultural Act, the price insurance for cereals, oats and barley, and the subsidy for lime and slag. If the hon. Member will consider these remarks carefully in detail I think he will find the answer to his question.

Mr. De la Bère

May I ask what is hindering further progress in this matter now?
