HC Deb 18 July 1938 vol 338 c1777
6. Mr. Arthur Henderson

asked the Prime Minister what representations have been made by the French Government to His Majesty's Government to the effect that the entering into force of the Anglo-Italian Agreement before the conclusion of a similar accord between the French and Italian Governments would be regarded as an unfriendly act?

The Prime Minister (Mr. Chamberlain)

No representations of the nature indicated by the hon. Member have been received from the French Government.

Mr. Henderson

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the allegation contained in this question was published semiofficially in Rome, and in view of that fact will he convey his reply to the Italian Government?

The Prime Minister

The Italian Government are quite aware of the facts of the situation.
