asked the Minister of Labour how many people were unemployed, men and women separately, on the last available date in the area of the city of Salford, compared with the same period last year?

Following is the statement:

The available figures relate to persons registered at the Salford Employment Exchange. The following table shows the numbers of unemployed the registers of that exchange June, 1938, and 21st June, 1937:
