Of these 324 are eligible for specialist allowance of 2S, 6d, a day, 19 for 2S, and 76 for 4S.; the remainder receive allowances which vary according to the appointments they hold, but where these appointments involve specialists' duties the allowances are generally in excess of 2s, 6d, a day.
