Captain BalfourNo, Sir, the review is continuing. As a result of the survey carried out so far, use is being or will shortly be made of 33 civil aerodromes for Royal Air Force or Auxiliary Air Force purposes.

Mr. Kellyasked the Secretary of State for Air what progress has been made towards acquiring land on the English side of the Solway Firth for use as an aerodrome at Silloth and Kirkbride; what area of land is involved; and, if it has been acquired, what price has been paid or agreed to be paid?
§ Sir K. WoodFollowing notices to treat, possession by agreement was obtained on 1st April of approximately 460 acres of land at Silloth and 370 acres at Kirkbride. Negotiations in regard to the price to be paid are proceeding.
