HC Deb 12 July 1938 vol 338 c1098
27. Mr. Day

asked the Secretary for Mines what reports he has received from His Majesty's inspectors regarding the instructions sent them to the effect that young and inexperienced boys should not be given duties in connection with the working of cages; and whether he proposes to take any further action?

The Secretary for Mines (Captain Crookshank)

No cases of the kind have been reported to me since the instructions were issued.

Mr. Day

Have colliery managers been circularised on this matter?

Captain Crookshank

No, Sir, there has been no occasion to circularise them.
