HC Deb 28 February 1938 vol 332 cc736-7
32. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Postmaster-General whether the Government will consider the appointment of a Member of this House as an unpaid liaison officer to establish contact between the House of Commons and the British Broadcasting Corporation?

Sir W. Womersley

No, Sir. My hon. Friend's proposal that the Government should appoint a Member of this House as an unpaid liaison officer to establish contact between the House and the British Broadcasting Corporation is impracticable.

Mr. De la Bère

Is not my hon. Friend aware that the bud of liberty opened with an English spring and that a frost nips it at Broadcasting House? What did the British Broadcasting Corporation do on 7th May?
