HC Deb 24 February 1938 vol 332 cc524-5
30. Mr. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Labour whether the King's National Roll Council have yet decided to extend the scope of the King's Roll system to include disabled ex-service men who received their disabilities on active service since the conclusion of the Great War?

Mr. E. Brown

No, Sir. The matter will be further considered by the King's Roll National Council at their next meeting.

Mr. Anstruther-Gray

Can my right hon. Friend say when the next meeting will take place?

Mr. Brown

I understand that it is to take place in May.

Mr. Anstruther-Gray

Cannot something be done rather sooner than that, as the matter has been under consideration for rather a long time?

Mr. Brown

I do not think it can. My hon. Friend will understand that this is a very complicated matter, and certain things have arisen which the National Council desire to look into more closely, and, as I have said, I understand that the next meeting will be in May.
