HC Deb 23 February 1938 vol 332 c359
70. Mr. Morgan

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether he is aware that in the advertisement inviting applications for nominations to compete for posts as estate surveyors in his Department, it is stated that candidates must have passed the examination of either the Chartered Surveyors' Institution, the Auctioneers' and Estate Agents' Institute, the Land Agents' Society, or that of the Faculty of Surveyors of Scotland; and why the examination of the Incorporated Society of Auctioneers and Landed Property Agents is not included?

The First Commissioner of Works (Sir Philip Sassoon)

The Civil Service Commission have under consideration the question of admitting the final examination of this society as a qualification for candidates for posts similar to those of estate surveyors throughout the civil service generally, and a decision is expected to be given shortly.
