HC Deb 22 February 1938 vol 332 c196
69. Miss Wilkinson

asked the 85Minister of Health whether he has considered the representations from Jarrow Town Council regarding the clearance and demolition of property on slum-clearance sites; and whether, as this would affect the housing revenue account, he can make provision in the Housing Bill to empower local authorities to undertake this work, with suitable financial provision?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health (Mr. Bernays)

My right hon. Friend has the letter from the town council under consideration, but a provision to the effect which they propose would be outside the scope of the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill.
