HC Deb 22 February 1938 vol 332 cc177-8
37. Mr. Roland Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that for some months past no funds have been available in the County of Lancashire for the payment of the expenses of Territorial Army officers attending drills; whether he can state the reason; and what steps are being taken to prevent similar situations arising in future?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Since the beginning of the current financial year only, Territorial Army officers have been entitled to a refund of such expenses, and county associations have been empowered to pay them. In some cases the estimates have been exceeded. I have caused instructions to be issued that the claims are to be met.
