HC Deb 21 February 1938 vol 332 cc27-8
54. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will have seating accommodation provided in all post offices where old age pensioners attend to receive their pensions?

Major Tryon

At the larger offices it is the practice now to provide writing tables and chairs. At most of the smaller offices consideration of space and traffic make the provision of seating accommodation impracticable.
