asked the Prime Minister whether he will move for the appointment of a select committee to inquire into the conditions of supply and sale of coal with regard to the expenses of selling and to the prices charged to the consumer of all classes of coal?

The Prime Minister

I am fully aware of the anxiety of the public that the interests of the consumer should be safeguarded in any arrangements affecting the price or conditions of sale of coal. The matter is receiving my consideration, but I am not at present in a position to make a statement.
