HC Deb 15 February 1938 vol 331 cc1685-6
58. Mr. Davidson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of air-raid protection schemes submitted by Scottish local authorities up to date, and the number accepted by his Department?

Mr. Elliot

As indicated in my reply to a question addressed to me by my hon. Friend the Member for East Fife (Mr. Henderson Stewart) on the 10th instant, nine local authorities in Scotland have submitted air-raid general precautions proposals and 22 have submitted fire precautions proposals either separately or in combination; these were all submitted before the regulations were circulated to local authorities on 28th January, and are of varying degrees of completeness. No schemes have yet been finally approved.
