No further military encounters with armed bands have occurred since 31st January; the Army are continuing search operations in districts where the presence of bands has been reported, while the police are maintaining intensified patrols and searches for arms.
§ Mr. Noel-BakerHas the right hon. Gentleman any information as to the origin of the arms captured on those arrested?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreNo, Sir. The arms which have been captured have mostly come from Syria, but a lot of them were in the country already.
