HC Deb 08 February 1938 vol 331 c840
Mr. Sorensen

On a point of Order, Mr. Speaker. May I ask why my question, addressed to the Secretary of State for War, has been detached from this section and put almost at the end of the list, being Question No. 113?

Mr. De la Bère

Are not the questions to the Secretary of State for War unusually uninteresting to-day?

Mr. Sorensen

May I put the question now?

Mr. Speaker

indicated assent.

113. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for War the approximate number of serving commissioned officers in the British Army who have risen from the ranks?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The hon. Member will realise that considerable labour is involved in ascertaining the number of such officers, but I am making inquiries.
