asked the First Commissioner of Works what is the reason that the necessary replacement or improvement of tax offices is being held up?

The programme for the rehousing of tax offices is being proceeded with as quickly as possible. In certain cases new offices have not been completed by the dates anticipated owing to difficulties experienced by the building owners, from whom the accommodation is being leased, in carrying out the necessary building work.

Mr. Kelly

In view of the conditions under which many of the officers have to work, will the First Commissioner of Works accelerate the housing programme?

The programme is not being held up, but it is inevitable that certain delays should arise.
