HC Deb 07 February 1938 vol 331 c672
64. Mr. Viant

asked the Postmaster-General the number of towns, villages, and other areas in Northern Ireland which do not receive a daily delivery of letters and parcels?

Major Tryon

There are no towns or villages in Northern Ireland which do not receive a delivery of letters and parcels each weekday. Some farms and houses in isolated places, such as islands have a less frequent delivery but their number has recently been substantially reduced. The remaining cases are receiving consideration.

Sir Ronald Ross

Is not the situation a good deal better than it was when the hon. Member who asked the question was at the Post Office?
