HC Deb 19 December 1938 vol 342 c2464
60. Mr. Hamilton Kerr

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether it would be possible for trade with China to be assisted before the conclusion of hostilities by export credits?

Mr. R. S. Hudson

As I stated in reply to the hon. Member for the Forest of Dean (Mr. Price) on 12th July last, export credit facilities are available to United Kingdom exporters to China as to other countries provided the business is judged to be sound and the security available adequate. I am afraid I cannot add anything at the moment.

Mr. Kerr

Is my right hon. Friend aware that the United States of America is granting facilities to its traders?
