HC Deb 12 December 1938 vol 342 c1586
24. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government has expressed to the French and German Governments its welcome of the recent Franco-German peace declaration as a contribution to European appeasement?

The Prime Minister

His Majesty's Government welcome the conclusion of this agreement, and the French Government were so informed when they made known its terms to His Majesty's Government on 24th November last.

Mr. Henderson

Will this declaration, so far as it refers to Franco-German frontiers, affect in any way the obligations of this country under the Treaty of Locarno?

The Prime Minister

No, Sir.
