HC Deb 08 December 1938 vol 342 c1350
43. Mr. T. Smith

asked the Home Secretary what arrangements have been made with the Government of Northern Ireland for Northern Ireland police to act in Great Britain under the Northern Ireland Special Powers Act?

Mr. Lloyd

The Act is not in force in Great Britain, and no such arrangements could be made.

Mr. Smith

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that quite recently a man made a speech against this Act in Manchester and that on his return to Belfast he was arrested and his papers were confiscated; and will the hon. Gentleman look into the case if I forward him the particulars?

Mr. Lloyd

I was not aware of the case.
