HC Deb 08 December 1938 vol 342 cc1367-8
Mr. Thurtle

On a point of Order, Mr. Speaker. May I ask you whether there is any given period during which a Private Member's Bill ought to be available in the Vote Office before the day set down for Second Reading?

Mr. Speaker

I understand that there is no fixed rule as to the time a Bill is set down for Second Reading.

Mr. Thorne

May I ask you whether you have the authority to order a Member who is introducing a Private Member's Bill to have the Bill printed so many days before the Bill comes up for Second Reading?

Mr. Speaker

I have already answered that question.
