HC Deb 28 April 1938 vol 335 c311
22. Mr. Fleming

(for Mr. Emery) asked the Home Secretary what steps he now proposes to take to stop the loss and minimise the hardships at present being experienced by many small shopkeepers owing to the operations of the Shops (Sunday Trading Restriction) Act?

Mr. Lloyd

I am not in a position to add anything to the replies given to the questions on this subject by my hon. Friend the Member for Wallsend (Miss Ward) on 31st March and 7th April. My hon. Friend will appreciate that this is a matter on which there is a wide diversity of opinion.
