HC Deb 26 April 1938 vol 335 cc28-9
57. Mr. T. Smith

asked the Prime Minister whether he has any information to give the House as to the position of affairs in Europe?

59. Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Prime Minister whether he has any statement to make on the international situation?

The Prime Minister

A statement has just been made concerning the situation in the Far East. With regard to the situation in Spain, the results of the Anglo-Italian conversations, and British interests in Mexico, I would ask the hon. Members to be good enough to await the replies to questions on the Order Paper on those subjects. I am, however, happy to take this opportunity to state that the French Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs are arriving in London on a short visit on Wednesday evening, when my Noble Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and I hope to discuss with them the principal international questions interesting our two countries.

Mr. Mander

Can the Prime Minister say anything about the situation in Czechoslovakia arising out of Herr Henlein's speech on Sunday?

The Prime Minister

No, I do not think I have anything to say about that.
