HC Deb 11 April 1938 vol 334 c754
45. Mr. E. Smith

asked the Prime Minister whether he has now given consideration to the case presented by several deputations to the Minister of Pensions on behalf of ex-service men and widows; has he considered the reports of the British Legion and the Motion on the Order Paper for the appointment of a Select Committee; and what steps are to be taken to deal with this problem?

The Prime Minister

I have given very careful consideration to the case presented by the joint deputation which I received from the British Legion and I have already replied fully to all the points raised. I propose in due course to publish the letter which sets out the Government's conclusions.
