At 14th March, 1938, there were 51,716 men and 38,751 women, aged 18 years and over, 10,263 juveniles, aged 16 and 17, and 33,863 under 16 years of age, on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Great Britain, who had no application for benefit or unemployment allowances.
