HC Deb 06 April 1938 vol 334 c328
25. Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in view of the unsuitable situation of the Royal Naval Engineering College at Keyham, he will remove the establishment to healthier surroundings enjoying the normal amenities of an educational establishment?

Mr. Cooper

The removal of the Royal Naval Engineering College to better surroundings has been under consideration for some time and negotiations are at present in progress for the purchase of a new site.

Viscountess Astor

Does that answer mean that the right hon. Gentleman considers that Keyham is unhealthy?

Mr. Cooper

No, I do not think it unhealthy, but I think that from many points of view it is undesirable.
