May I ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what will be the business for next week?

The general Debate on the Address will be finished to-day. The Opposition Amendment will be moved to-morrow, the Debate on that Amendment being continued and brought to a conclusion on Monday, 1st November.

On Tuesday, 2nd November, the Opposition Liberal Amendment standing on the Paper in the name of the hon. and gallant Member for Pembroke (Major Lloyd George) will be taken. In view of the interest in all parts of the House in the subject mentioned in this Amendment, I think it would be for the convenience of Members if the whole of Tuesday were given for this discussion, instead of only half a day.

The Debate on the Address will be brought to a conclusion on Tuesday night.

Wednesday, 3rd November: Private Members' Motions will be considered.

Thursday, 4th November: Second Reading of the Cinematograph Films Bill.

Friday, 5th November: Consideration of Private Members' Bills.

On any day, if there is time, progress will be made with other business.

May I ask whether that reply indicates that in the Debate on Tuesday, for which extra time is being given, there will be latitude to discuss the Amendment in the name of a far larger party in the House?

That, of course, is entirely for Mr. Speaker, but I may say, having looked at the Order Paper, that it has occurred to me that the Amendment to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers can probably be covered in the discussion on the Opposition Amendment.
