HC Deb 21 October 1937 vol 327 c18
38. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the Government will now consider taking steps to provide for agriculture long-term credits at 3½ per cent.?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Io have nothing to add to the answer I gave to my hon. Friend on 8th July.

Mr. De la Bère

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether the Government ever intend to do anything for agriculture, and whether he thinks that agriculture is getting fair play?

Mr. Morrison

The present Government have done more for the agricultural industry than any preceding Government and are prepared to consider with the utmost care any proposal which will conduce to the advantage of agriculture.
