HC Deb 30 November 1937 vol 329 c1853
6. Mr. H. G. Williams

asked the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made in the negotiations with insurance companies in respect of antiaircraft insurance?

Mr. Stanley

I am not aware of any negotiations such as my hon. Friend suggests. On the general question of war risks insurance, I would refer him to the answers I gave on 2nd and 9th November to the hon. Member for Dudley (Mr. Joel).

Mr. Williams

Can my right hon. Friend give any indication when the citizens of this country will be able to take steps to cover themselves against these risks if they should desire to do so?

Mr. T. Williams

As no private insurance company is likely to undertake this risk, will the Government consider the advisability of the Government accepting it?

Mr. Stanley

If the hon. Gentleman will look at the answer to which I referred, he will see that I dealt with that point.
