asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any recent negotiations have taken place between His Majesty's Government and the United States of America Government regarding a settlement of their inter-governmental debts; and whether such an arrangement is likely to form part of, or coincide with, the anticipated trade agreement between the two countries?
