HC Deb 30 November 1937 vol 329 c1875
45. Sir Assheton Pownall

asked the Prime Minister whether he can now state the recommendations of the Departmental Committee set up to consider the possibility of a scheme for pensions for ex-Members of Parliament?

The Prime Minister (Mr. Chamberlain)

The report of the Committee is, I understand, nearly ready, and will probably reach me in the course of a week or so.

Sir A. Pownall

Does my right hon. Friend think it will be possible to make the report available to us before the Christmas Recess?

The Prime Minister

I should not like to answer that question until I have the document.
