asked the Minister of Health whether he will introduce legislation to empower local authorities to tax hoardings, with a view to the raising of revenue and the protection of rural amenities?

I would refer my hon. Friend to the Advertising Stations (Rating) Act, 1889, which enables local authorities to assess, and collect rates upon, advertising stations.

Are not all hoardings rated, and also liable to tax under Schedule A?
