HC Deb 25 November 1937 vol 329 cc1381-2
22. Mr. Simpson

asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been called to the case of an unemployed collier, Arthur Dawson, of 30, Oldham Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, who committed suicide by drowning at Knott Hill reservoir on 29th October last, and to evidence given at the inquest to the effect that he was worried about the questioning he would have to undergo under the means test regulations; and whether he will inquire into the circumstances generally?

Mr. E. Brown

Inquiries are being made by the Unemployment Assistance Board and I will communicate with the hon. Member.
