HC Deb 25 November 1937 vol 329 c1406
57 and 58. Mr. G. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health (I) when the order for the amalgamation of Royston urban district council and Royhill and Haver-croft parish councils will be made; and whether it will take effect from April, 1938;

(2) when the order for the amalgamation of South Emsall, South Kirkby, North Emsall, and Upton parish councils in an urban district council will be made; and whether it will take effect from April, 1938?

Sir K. Wood

Certain difficulties have arisen in connection with these proposed changes. These difficulties are receiving consideration, and I hope that it will be practicable to give an early decision.

Mr. Griffiths

Does the Minister think the change will operate by April, 1938?

Sir K. Wood

I hope so. I will communicate with the hon. Member, We are in communication with the county council on the subject.

Mr. Griffiths

Is the Minister aware that the local authorities are very desirous of knowing, because April, 1938, will be here soon?

Sir K. Wood

I will have regard to that consideration.
