§ 44. Sir John Mellorasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a decision has yet been reached as to the principles on which special provision is to be made for dependants of officials of the Government of Palestine assassinated in the course of their duties?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreYes, Sir. It is not considered practicable to make any general legislative provision appropriate to all cases; but an undertaking has been given that, in the event of the assassination of an officer in the course of his duties, the question of a special award to his dependants will be considered in the light of all the circumstances of the case.
