HC Deb 10 November 1937 vol 328 c1760
32. Mr. Moreing

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the present position of the colony of Hong Kong; what is the decline in trade; what are the numbers of persons who have taken refuge in the island; how these are being maintained; and what is the financial position of the Government and the economic position of the community at the present time?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

My hon. Friend's question is a very comprehensive one, and if he would be so good as to repeat it next week as a non—oral question I shall be in a position to give him a detailed reply.
