§ 33. Sir George Mitcheson
asked the President of the Board of Trade how the volume of imports of manufactured goods, other than non-ferrous metals and petroleum products, in the September quarter of this year compared with the same quarter of 1931?
If the effect of price changes is eliminated, the volume of retained imports into the United Kingdom of goods classified in the trade returns as wholly or mainly manufactured, excluding non-ferrous metals and manufactures thereof and refined petroleum, was 1571 about 10 per cent. less in the third quarter of this year than in the corresponding quarter of 1931.
