WoodThe original programmes submitted by local authorities under the slum clearance campaign involved the erection of some 290,000 houses and at the present rate of progress this number of houses will be completed within the next two years. The programme has been and is being considerably extended and I cannot, therefore, at the present time suggest a date for the completion of the whole of the work to be done.
