HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1105
43. Mr. Parker

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the Romford division now has over 188,000 electors, of which Barking has 46,000, Dagenham 57,000, Hornchurch 49,000, and Rornford 35,000; and whether he will consider the provision of separate constituencies for each of these four towns?

Sir S. Hoare

In the framing of a general scheme of redistribution consideration would naturally have to be given to the question of dividing the Romford Division. It would not be practicable to promote a redistribution Measure dealing solely with the case of Romford.
