The Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (Marquess of Hartington)This question has been carefully examined by an inter-departmental committee and the general conclusion reached is that while there is clear evidence of an increasing immigration from the Irish Free State into Great Britain, the immigrants are being absorbed into employment and are not tending to increase disproportionately the unemployment figures.
