HC Deb 31 May 1937 vol 324 c665
33. Mr. Day

asked the First Commissioner of Works particulars of the number of public parks in London, the cost of upkeep of which is borne on the votes of his Department, in which alcoholic drinks can be obtained and consumed during licensing hours without the restriction of having to purchase meals; and is it necessary for the consent of his Department to be first obtained by the tenants before the necessary licences are applied for or the existing conditions modified?

The First Commissioner of Works (Sir Philip Sassoon)

The answer to the first part of the question is "None," and, to the second part, is in the affirmative.
