HC Deb 31 May 1937 vol 324 cc653-4
8. Sir J. Wardlaw-Milne

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any conversations with the Japanese Government are being carried on in connection with matters of common interest to Japan and Great Britain; and whether if any progress is being made with these negotiations, the necessity for fully preserving the interests of China will be carefully borne in mind?

Mr. Eden

The position in regard to conversations remains as described in the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for East Wolverhampton (Mr. Mander) on 6th May. The answer to the second part of the question is "Yes," Sir.
