HC Deb 31 May 1937 vol 324 c650
4. Mr. MacLaren

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Burma whether it is intended to create the office of a High Commissioner for Burma in London?

Mr. Stuart

There is no such intention at present. For the time being the Government of Burma have taken advantage of the permission accorded by Section 302 (3) of the Government of India Act and are continuing, with the concurrence of the Governor-General, to make use of the services of the High Commissioner for India on a basis of payment for services rendered.
